Subaru - Impreza WRX STI WR1
To mark Petter Solberg's glorious 2003 World Rally Championship
Drivers' Title win, Subaru unveil an exclusive edition Impreza
WRX STi. The latest in a long line of sucessful collaborations
between Subaru (UK) Ltd and Prodrive Ltd., it's called the
WR1 and is so stunningly special, only 500 have been produced.
It takes the legendary attributes of the WRX STi turbo charged
Subaru Boxer engine, Symmetrical All- Wheel Drive, six speed
gearbox, front and rear Suretrac differentials and, of course
Brembo brakes and lifts already superb performance to absolutely
astonishing planes.
Now a new Prodrive performance package (to be fitted after
registration of the vehicle) boosts power output to an awesome
320 PS.
Also new is a manually selected driver's control centre differential
(DCCD). Now the torque distribution between front and rear
wheels can be chosen to suit particular driving modes delivering
sharper cornering turn-in or more stable straightline running.
Other handling enhancements include Prodrive developed uprated
springs and bump stops with a 25mm lower ride height, 18''
diameter PFF (Prodrive Flow Forming) seven spoke alloy wheels
with Pirelli P Zero tyres.
A car honed and re-specified to produce the purest, most
responsive, most focused drive ever. And an Impreza that looks
cooler than ever in new Ice Blue metallic paint with additional
driving lamps and twin stainless steel mesh grilles.
